A small bud vase with a tall conical form and a jagged volcanic crater rim. The body has vertical fluted lines finished in a glossy dark blue-black glaze, with copper-red drip glaze flowing down from the rim like lava. The rim is uneven and organic, shaped entirely by hand.

Each piece is fully handmade from shaping to glazing to firing. It starts as clay, thrown or shaped by hand for 10-20 min, trimmed for another 20 min, then dried slowly for about 1 week. Once dry, it goes through its first bisque firing for 4-5 hours, then cools for another 5 hours. After that, it is glazed by hand for about 15 min, fired again at high temperature for 9-12 hours, then cooled for a full day. Some pieces need to be sanded by hand at the base, so they sit smoothly on the table.
These slow, quiet steps are part of what gives each piece its own character. Variations in speckle patterns, glaze flow, shape, and tone are part of handmade pottery. The piece you receive will be one of a kind, with the same overall style and mood as shown in the photos.
